Born on the 11th of October in the year 1942 Amithab belongs to a Hindu Kayasth household and born on 10th of April in the year 1948 Jaya belongs to a Kulin Brahmin family. For the couples they did not need to act out their love for each other in their films, it came naturally. Their love sparks in and added some special moments in films like Zanjeer (1973), Abhimaan (1973), Chupke Chupke (1975), Sholay (1975).

Shahrukh started to convince all her relatives one by one. It took many years to do so and gradually everyone started liking him and even assured that her parents will also agree soon. The marriage took place in 1991 was a tough task to accomplish. But at the end everything fell in to place for the couples because Shahrukh was willing to do anything to get her in his life.
