Lenovo Announces LePhone K2

Lenovo has announced another Android Gingerbread phone, named as LePhone K2. The LePad K2 is based on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, and sports a 4.3 inch IPS display, 1.5 GHz dual-core CPU on the MSM8260, 1 GB of RAM, and an 8 MP camera with 1080p HD video recording. No pricing or availability detail have been announced but is expected to arrive by January.

The other phones that will come along with K2 will be S2 and LePad S2005. The Lenovo LePhone S2 is based on a 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Scorpion CPU on the MSM8255 chipset, and runs on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and has a 3.8 inch screen. Two versions of LePhone S2 are expected; the costlier version comes with a 1 GB of RAM coupled with 16 GB of inbuilt storage, or Lenovo would launch a cheaper 512 MB/8 GB variant.

Lenovo will be offering 200 GB of cloud storage with the device. However, there is no space for expandable memory. The LePhone S2 comes with an 8 MP camera capable of 720p HD video recording. The price of the phone is Rs.24,300.


The 5 inch phone from Lenovo has also been announced and is expected to be available in China in next two three days. The phone is called Lenovo LePad S2005 is expected to be called the IdeaTab when it releases globally. The phone is slim with a 9.9 mm-thickness and sports a dual-core 1.2 GHz Scorpion CPU, coupled with 1 GB of RAM, Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, and a Amoled screen running on LTPS technology, promising an extra wide 178-degree viewing angle, with 800x480 resolution.


It comes with 5 MP camera capable of 1080p HD video recording, a 1.3 MP front-facing camera, and has micro USB and micro HDMI ports. The detail about the pricing is not revealed.
