Year 2012 will be thrilling and action packed for all the action movie fans. The year will showcase some awesome movies filled with suspense. The following will the 'BIG MOVIES' of the coming year.
Dark Knight Rises
The film will be the third and final installment in Nolan's Batman film series, and is a sequel to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Directed by Christopher Nolan, and co-written by Nolan and his brother Jonathan is said to hit the theatres in midsummer of 2012. The movie will star Christian Bale as Batman, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Cane as Alfred and Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon. The movie will introduce two new characters of Selina Kyle and Bane as villains from Batman mythology portrayed by Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy.

Bond is back! The twenty-third Bond movie will be directed by Sam Mendes featuring Daniel Craig as James Bond for the third time. The movie will be produced by Eon Production for MGM, Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Judi Dench will portray as "M" for the seventh consecutive film. Craig feels honored to be the part of this series for the third time. Bond will again showcase his loyalty towards "M" and "MI6" secret service. The movie will hit the big screen around October- December.

Climbing the buildings, crossing the busy roads can be experienced again in middle summer with the release of The Amazing Spider-Man. It is one of the most anticipated movies based on comic characters. Andrew Garfield as Peter Park will be seen developing his super powers in the high school along with Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors. The movie will be releasing in middle summer of 2012 in 3D and IMAX 3D.

The upcoming science fiction is an action film based on the 1990 film with the same name. Directed by Len Wiseman, who is famous for Underworld, the movie will replace Arnold Schwarzenegger with Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale will replace Sharons Stone in the role of Lori. Ethan Hawke, Jessica Biel, Bill Nighy and Bryan Cranston are also included in the star cast. Written by Mark Bomback, James Vanderbilt and Kurt Wimmer, the movie was initially decided for the year 2009, but is now scheduled to release next year by August.

Get ready to meet up Iron Man, Thor, captain America, Hulk, Black Window and Hawkeye yet again! Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D will hire the super heroes again to save the world from disaster. The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast, which includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson. The action movie will be released in May.

Underworld Awakening
The 3D action movie is all set for a release in January. The second sequel in the Underworld series comes with a new title Awakening. Kate Beckinsale plays Selene, who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species. He presence of little girl deepens the plot, as being the only representative of hybrid breed. Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein are directing the film with a screenplay by Len Wiseman, John Hlavin, and Allison Burnett The fight to end the human race will be seen early in 2012.

The upcoming science fiction naval war film is based on the game of same name. It tells the story of a naval routine military exercise that rolls into a serious mission for humanity. An alien threat is to be faced by group of warships. Admiral Shane is played by Liam Neeson, together with Rihanna Alexander Skarsgard. Taylor Kitsch, and Brooklyn Decker are other names in the star cast. The film was originally planned to be released in 2011, but was rescheduled to May 2012.

Safe House
Safe House is a thriller about secret agents, international conspiracy and CIA detention houses, with Denzel Washington as the protagonist of the movie. Along with him Ryan Reynolds acts as a young and aspiring CIA agent. Vera Farmiga, Robert Patrick, Sam Shepard and Brendan Gleeson can also be seen in the movie. Expected to be the best action movie for the year 2012, "Safe House", will hit the theatres in the month of February.

The upcoming American action thriller film directed by Baltasar Kormakur stars Mark Wahlberg and Kate Beckinsale. Chris Farraday abandoned his life of crime long ago, but after his brother-in-law, Andy, botches a drug deal for his ruthless boss, Tim Briggs, Chris is forced back into doing what he does best, running contraband, to settle Andy's debt and to protect his wife's brother, played by Kate Beckinsale. The film is a remake of the Icelandic 2009 film Reykjavik-Rotterdam which Kormakur starred in. The action thriller will be released in January 2012.

Red Tails
A true story from the end of the Second World War is portrayed through the upcoming action drama movie, "Red Tails". Directed by Anthony Hemingway, the movie is based on based on the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of African-American combat pilots during World War II, and is the first Lucasfilm production since Radioland Murders (1994) not associated with the Indiana Jones or Star Wars franchises. Cuba Gooding Jr., who previously starred in another movie title based on The Red Tails called The Tuskegee Airmen on HBO stars in the movie along with Terrence Howard and Brian Cranston. The premiere of Red Tails is expected in the first month of 2012.
