Movie actors entertain us through their unique performances on TV and
the silver screen. Some are remembered by the type of attire they sport
or just the charisma they possess. There are some evergreen actors who
continued starry career till their olden days. But some of them are
unfortunate as they couldn't see their last creative project onscreen.
Here is a list of actors who died during the filming by leaving their
directors in an emotional and logistic dilemma. Such actors put
themselves in dangerous situations by volunteering to perform dangerous
stunts- all in order to make a box office hit. Some
have even died while
on duty.
Vic Morrow
Vic Morrow is famous through his role in the TV series called Combat.
He died in a tragic helicopter accident during the making of Twilight
Zone: the Movie, directed by John Landis on July 23, 1982. Along with
Marrow two child actors named Myca Dinh Le (age 7) and Renee Shin-Yi
Chen (age 6) also died in the accident. It was a dangerous sequence in
the movie showcasing the combination of Pyrotechnics and helicopter
maneuvering. The helicopter's tail gets detached because of the
exploding pyrotechnics. Legal actions were taken against the director;
and the movie got released the very next year, and performed well at the
box office.
Brandon Lee
Brandon Lee was a promising actor and the son of martial arts film star Bruce Lee. He was killed in a tragic accident on the sets of The Crow on March 31, 1993. Brandon
Lee was killed when the villain, the Fun boy fired the gun at Lee as
planned for the shooting. Unfortunately, the pistol used in the shot had
a true bullet loaded in its barrel, which was rushed out by the power
of the blank being shot. The bullet hit Lee in the abdomen and died soon
after the incident. The few remaining scenes were completed by
digitally superimposed Lee's face morphed with the stunt double's body.
River Phoenix
Phoenix began his acting career at the age of 10 by acting in television commercials. His debut film was 'Stand by Me' is based on the novel by Stephen King. He was
found dead in Los Angeles, during the filming of Dark Blood, due to the
result of overdose on Halloween. The movie, based on the story of a
widower living on a nuclear testing site, got abruptly cancelled because
of the young actor's death. He had also signed up for a movie called
Interview with the Vampire starring Tom Cruise. Brandon Lee.
Marilyn Monroe
Marilyn Monroe, the famous bombshell of Hollywood, died before she could finish acting in "Somet
hing's Got to Give". She is famous with herbmemorable serenading of
President John F. Kennedy, multiple marriages and evergreen roles. Her
last stint created a storm and a web on controversies among the critics.
She couldn't live to complete her last movie; she was found in her
bedroom in California, she had reportedly taken an overdose of
barbiturates. Later on, a documentary named "Marilyn: The Final Days"
was released by including sequences from the unfinished film
"Something's Got to Give".
