Toshiba’s new tablet ‘Excite LE’ which
is thinner than Droid Razr and lighter than iPad is going to be
launched on March 6, 2012. Excite LE showed its first appearance at CES
2012 and was initially named Excite X10, and now it has got a final
release date.
Excite LE is a 10.1-inch tablet which is unbelievably thin
measuring only 0.3 inches and weighs just 535 grams. Excite LE is meant
to compete with Samsung Galaxy Tab 2- a 10.1-inch tablet which is 0.38
inches thick and weighs 589 grams and iPad-9.7-inch screen tablet which
is 0.34 inches thick and weighs 603 grams.

Excite LE has a 1.2GHz dual-core OMAP 4430 processor from Texas
Instruments and runs on Android 2.3 which will be upgraded to Android
4.0 in this spring. The device also features Micro-USB, HDMI, Micro SD
ports and front and rear-facing cameras.
Initially the device will be shipped to U.S. market costing $529.99 for
the 16GB model and $599.99 for the 32GB model. Toshiba has not net
confirmed this new device’s availability in the world market, but the
company says variants of this tablet will be released soon for other
countries.
