Samsung launched a compact sized
budget Android smartphone – Galaxy Pocket. The device features 2.8 inch
touchscreen with 240x320 pixels of resolution, is powered by 832 MHz
single core processor and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating
system.

The device is scheduled to hit the UK market later
this year than to other
countries. Much specification is not available, but it features 3 GB of
internal memory, a microSD card slot for expanding memory, 2 MP rear
camera and for connectivity it will have Wi-Fi, 3G, GPRS, Bluetooth,
HSDPA and micro USB 2.0.
The Galaxy Pocket will be the company’s cheapest Android smartphone;
the company has not yet revealed the price details. As of now the Galaxy
Y is the company’s cheapest Android smartphone which costs around
Rs.7500.
