There are hundreds tablets out there in the market, but the best of them comes with a huge price tag which will burn our pockets. As having a tablet has become a status issue now days each one of us want to owe one good device which comes under our budget and fulfills all your needs.  The emerging range of tablets which comes under the price bracket of Rs.15000 has increased in past six months. This puts a lot of questions in our mind: Which to buy? Which OS is the best one? What screen size it should be? What processer or memory or storage is ideal for a tablet and many more? Here are some checklist which will be helpful to you while you step out in the market to buy an affordable tablet.

1. Operating system
Operating system
There are different operating systems available for tablets. The most popular is iOS by Apple, which is only used for iPad, iPhone and iPod. Many tablets in India are running on the Google’s Android operating system. Several tablet manufacturers in India has come up with tablets based on Android operating system.
It is recommended to buy an Android based tablet and make sure it should be a recent version of Android operating system or higher one. Currently most of the tablets come with Android 2.3 and 3.0 versions. iBeery Auxus is the cheapest tablet in India with the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

2. Display
Display
It’s up to you o decide what screen size you opt for, but here the main concern is the display quality than the screen size. As every tablet comes with a touchscreen what you need to know is: There are two types of touchscreen: resistive and capacitive touchscreen. The resistive works better with stylus and the capacitive one works well with fingers.
It is good to buy a capacitive touchscreen with 1024x600 pixels of resolution for better experience, even Android works well on capacitive touchscreen tablets and will be easy to use.
3. Connectivity
Connectivity
Most of us buy tablets to browse web when we are on the move. Preferably you should opt for a tablet which supports 3G, the Wi-Fi only works well if you are in near to the Wi-Fi hotspot.
There are some tablets with 3G connectivity which allows you to make calls and send test messages too. This will be a bonus for those who do not like to carry many devices on the go. Mercury mTab Neo provides the call and text messaging facilities.

4. Processor and Memory
Processor And Memory
Most tablets in India have single core processor between 600 MHz to 1 GHz speed and we all know ‘faster the processor, better the performance’. There are tablets with 800 MHz processor which does a decent job. It is recommended to buy a tablet with 800 MHz to 1 GHz processor for speedy and better performance.
Higher capacity memory is also a contributing factor for speedy performance. The 256 MB of RAM on Android tablets works well, but having a 512 MB of RAM provides a better performance. It is better to buy a fast tablet having a high capacity RAM.

5. Battery life
Battery Life
Battery life is what all look out for? Measuring battery life is not so easy, if you want a faster processor, a better brighter display and so on then you have to compromise with the battery life a bit. Normally most of the tablets are capable of working up to 4 to 6 hours. Increase in battery life depends on how you use it; you can switch off the Wi-Fi when it is not in use and reduce the display brightness to boost its juice a bit.
