Blackberry PlayBook Tablets Get 50 Percent Cheaper in India

Canadian BlackBerry maker Research in Motion (RIM), battling tough competition from Apple's iPad, is offering over 50 percent discount on its PlayBook tablets under a limited festive season offer till Dec 31.

A company spokesperson Wednesday said the 16 GB model of the PlayBook can be bought for  Rs. 13,490 in the Indian market instead of its regular price of Rs. 27,990.

While the 32 GB model is available for Rs. 15,990, the 64 GB model is being offered for  Rs. 24,490 against their regular prices of  Rs. 32,990 and  Rs. 37,990 respectively.

The smartphone maker has been struggling to gain significant market share since April when it launched the tablets. It has been able to sell 800,000 units of the device globally in the first nine months of financial year 2011-12.

In comparison, Apple has sold over 11 million iPads globally during the quarter ended September.

Television makers has already introduced new technologies like LED black light TV, Full HD or high frame rate, internet browsing with social network integrated and 3D TVs to boost TV demands but the price sensitive consumers North American are unwilling to pay higher costs for high-end features. There is a down rate of over 30 percent in quarter 3 of 2011 in the sales of 55 inch 3D premium LCD TV which reveals the fact that consumers are ready to trade off the features when compared to size.

Meanwhile, Google and Apple are offering new features to their TV and even Microsoft Xbox is coming with live TV which gives the experience of high-end gaming and live TV experience. Well it will be too soon to say whether TVs of these tech giants will succeed or not.

The image of S7100 in their website shows that it has managed to copy formats of icons from Apple, Microsoft and other. The buttons in the device looks similar to the actual PlayStation button. This gaming tablet is available at a price tag of $140, but the company has not yet conform the availability in India.

Intel's Ultrabook: Is Your New Year Resolution?

2012 is being called the Year of the Ultrabook. Ultrabooks are a new breed of device, inspired by Intel, which combine the best features of a PC in a package which is thinner, lighter and more responsive. Intel has designed an industry-wide blueprint for Ultrabooks.

Ultrabooks are powered by Intel Core processors, so they have the power of a full PC, but they use a special chip which only sips power, so your battery lasts longer and you can stay on the go, and use your notebook like it was intended, for longer. Ultrabooks also take advantage of a bright idea called Intel Turbo Boost technology. Just like the turbo in your car, this cleverly provides a short burst of computing power only when it’s needed, allowing the chip to conserve power when it is not.

Trace your Stolen Camera with CameraTrace

GadgetTrak has launched its beta version as GadgetTrak Serial Search after several years called CameraTrace, which helps photographers to protect and trace their stolen cameras.

Photographer’s has to register their camera’s serial number which includes a one-time payment of $10 to have life time validity. Whenever you report that your camera is stolen or lost then the CameraTrace will help you to trace your camera using the camera’s serial number. In addition to tracking your stolen camera, it also provides copyright protection service. CameraTrace also track your image if somebody is misusing your photo and uploading it without your permission.

CameraTrace can detect and send an instant email notification to the registered user whenever an image is taken from a stolen camera and uploaded online, as almost every digital camera imprints their serial number on the photos. Recently CameraTrace helped professional photographer John Heller to recover his $9,000 camera successfully.

It uses a particular search technology to scan photo from various photo sharing websites for the images which are taken from the registered serial number. It has already searched and examined more than 5 billion images from many popular photo sharing sites. CameraTrace is growing its database and now it includes 11 million cameras of 300 different high-end camera models of several manufacturers like Nikon, Cannon, Kodak, Sony and Olympus as this technology is helping many professional and amateur photographers to trace their valuable lost cameras.
