World’s Best Islands

The Philippines are having a moment. This year, three of the top 10 islands in the world, as decided by Travel + Leisure readers, are in this Asian archipelago.

Every year for our World’s Best Awards survey, T+L asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe—to share their opinions on the top cities, islands, cruise lines, spas, airlines, and more. Readers ranked islands according to their activities and sights, natural attractions and beaches, food, friendliness, and overall value.

The Philippines’ predominance shows that discerning travelers are willing to travel great distances for the rewards of clear waters and sugary white beaches. “There is never a dull moment in Cebu,” said one T+L reader, who claimed the Philippine island, which ranked sixth on the list, is “perfect for travelers who don't want to spend a lot of money on recreational activities.” Hiking through canyons, swimming with whale sharks, and diving from the top of a waterfall are just a few of the activities visitors can try.

Only a puddle-jump away is the island of Boracay, which one reader deemed “a natural treasure.” The crowning jewel of this tropical destination is Shangri-La's Boracay Resort (No. 8 among this year's Top Resort Hotels in Southeast Asia), which is nestled in a cove and offers guests supreme luxury amid verdant hills nd powdery beaches.

Not all the islands on the list are remote or exotic. Hilton Head, off the shore of South Carolina, is all plantation-style architecture, golf courses, and Lowcountry cuisine. And as a key stopover on migration routes, Hilton Head is a birder's paradise.

The Hawaiian islands of Maui and Kauai, which appear on the Top 10 list year after year, provide both the allure of faraway lands and the convenience of a domestic getaway. “For me,” said one survey taker, “going to Maui is like going home: comfortable, familiar, and beautiful.”

With Maui and Kauai's manicured golf courses and upscale resorts boasting triple infinity pools and chic bungalows, it’s easy to feel pampered. But the islands' natural attractions play a huge role in their appeal, too. You can watch migrating humpback whales trace the rugged coast, hike up towering volcanoes and across black-sand beaches, or get lost in the lush rain forests that are punctuated by waterfalls and obsidian bluffs.

What all of these award-winning islands have in common, to be sure, is a transcendent beauty and an ability to coax any traveler into a state of bliss.

She became a celebrity right after her arrest by the FBI. Her hot pictures and videos went viral on the web. She earned a lot of media attention on 3 July 2013 when she asked Edward Snowden to marry her.

This girl is an educator from Shanghai who teaches people the basics of “How to start hacking”, “How to change your IP address” and “How to wipe Office passwords” etc. Ying Cracker also teaches how to effectively protect passwords of personal computers. Of course, these are very basic things to learn from anywhere else but who doesn’t want to learn to hack from a hot young girl?

She is a well-famous name in the female hacking world and an expert in hacker software writing. She charges a good amount of money for teaching courses on simple hacking tools. She charges around RMB 1000-10000 in helping other people to crack software. She usually makes about RMB 20,000 per month in the hacking business.

4. Kristina Svechinskaya

It looks like Russian hacker beauty is hard to handle so here is an another Russian hacker girl on our list. In 2010, Kristina and a few more friends of her broke into dozens of bank accounts using a trojan, including large banks like Bank of America and Bank of Wachovia. In total, Svechinskaya and her colleagues managed to steal more than $3 million. In this regard, the girl was charged with conspiracy to commit fraud, and the use of fake passports. Then Christine gave the right to be released on condition of bail of 25 thousand dollars.

In addition, Christina has signed a recognizance not to leave. Three years later, on 24th June 2013, Svechinskaya was released under the supervision of the court in New York. She was ordered to pay damages of 35 thousand dollars.

After hacking scandal Svechinskaya stayed in America, where she graduated from New York University. She uses various social networks and enjoys very actively to communicate with her fans. And they have quite a lot of it: after the high-profile case of Svechinskaya, she got the title of the sexiest girl hacker.

5. Xiao Tian

Another Chinese girl in our list this girl is a leader of “Ch (China) Girl Security Team”, a Chinese female hacker group that currently has more than 3000 members and counting. Xiao Tian created the now-infamous hacking team when she was just 18 years old. She felt that there was no other outlet for teenage girls like her in the male-dominated world of hacking. She is not just one of hottest female hackers but really a genius girl and an inspiration to others.

2. Sony India RX100

Sony India has today officially launched the RX100 II, a much awaited update to the already very popular RX100. The camera brings about a bucket full of changes, though they may not be so apparent on first glance.

The RX100 II has a 20.9 megapixel sensor, same as the RX100 with an effective resolution of 20.2 megapixels, same as the RX100. So may would be inclined to think that the sensor in the two cameras is the same, but Sony claims that is not the case. It is possible that the micro-lens array has received some tweaking, which does result in noticeable changes in image quality, especially with BSI-CMOS sensors.

3. Fujifilm FinePix X20

The X20 boasts to be a lot more than its predecessor claimed to be, packing a brand spankin' new BSI sensor and image processor. It addressed the many shortcomings the previous model had, including making that optical viewfinder useful by putting a digital information overlay in there.
